Full-time employee for the City of Herrin responsible for enforcing the building and health codes and serving as the Zoning Board Coordinator. Licensed State of Illinois Home Inspector.

  • Enforce the building and health codes.
  • Establish and enforce all written building permit procedures.
  • Review site plan applications for the expansion of dwellings.
  • Conduct inspections of buildings, structures and uses of land as are necessary to determine compliance with Code.
  • Issue all building permits and certificates of occupancy, and maintain permanent records.
  • Inspect and issue occupancy permits to any person occupying any dwelling in Herrin.
  • Monitor and enforce proper maintenance of property, including proper lawn care and trash removal.
  • Monitor removal of inoperable and abandoned vehicles.
  • Enforce the city ordinance in regards to signage permits.
  • Monitor and permit wireless communication service providers.
  • Serve as Zoning Board Coordinator
  • Review all inquiries regarding variances of building and/or land regulations.
  • Review applications for any special use permit.
  • Review written requests to amend zoning codes.
  • Prepare and submit to the Zoning Board of Appeals and the City Council all pertinent documentation required.

Williamson County Public Building Commission (PBC) – 2004-present

The PBC is comprised of 5 commissioners and owns and operates the Williamson County Courthouse, Administration Building, Williamson County Jail, Annex Building and supervises the maintenance staff for these public facilities.

  • Oversaw the construction of the Williamson County Administration Building from initial concept to final completion, an 8 million dollar project.
  • Overseeing the renovation of the Williamson County Courthouse Building from initial concept to final completion, a 2 million dollar project.
  • Negotiates contracts for the Williamson County PBC projects and maintenance staff.
  • Manages the budget for the PBC.
